Pregnancy Symptoms at 8.5 Weeks: Changes in This Third Pregnancy
QuestionI am 25 years old, have two children, and the date of my last menstrual period was about Febraury 25th. I am eight and a half weeks pregnant with my third child. I feel completely different with this pregnancy than the other two. I am not fitting into any of my clothes, which I had no problem with the first two, my breasts are unbelievably sour (all the time), and I am wondering what that means. My mother-in-law (who has a set of twins), said that's how she felt with the twins. That's on top of more than a dozen people telling me "they have a feeling" that I'm going to have twins. I have my first OB appointment on the 3rd of May, and I was hoping to find out if it is twins. Is that too soo to tell and if so, what are some "signs" of twins?
AnswerUntil you get a sonogram after 6 weeks gestation, you will not be able to diagnose if you are carrying twins. Since you are now 8 weeks pregnant at this time, a sonogram should show whether you have twins or one baby. Certainly, if y8u appear larger than your number of weeks, you may be carrying twins.
