Pregnancy Symptoms After Depo Shot: What to Expect

i was on the depo shot for two years,i got on it right after giving birth to my son.my problem is i havent had a period since before i was pregnant.i think i used to get my period around the end of the month like the last week and sometimes into the next month.well i been off the shot since february and have sex unprotected (i want to get preg)how will i know if i am and my hpt have been negitive.im bloated get cramps and eat and really bloat,my bellys been itchy am i preg or is it to early to know yet.i took my first test in april then took another last week im gonna take one more, or am i crazy,i know i had sex last month not sure when...i just really want to know how will i tell and should i see a doctor maybe i dont know if i feel symtoms because its just that time of the month u know..i really appreciate any answers or in put to my situation..thanks for ur time

So you never got a period after the birth of you son, ever? I suppose you are not nursing him? (nursing a baby can prevent periods)

I would definitely see your gynecologist and check to see when your period should begin. I have heard of this with the depo before, that it can really delay periods; it might still be preventing you from ovulating.

Could you be pregnant now? I am thinking probably not, since your two negative home tests... but if you are thinking about trying to get pregnant again, you should start on folic acid and prenatal vitamins anyway, and your doctor would want to prescribe these for you.

So... go ahead and make that appointment... there are shots that the doctor can give you to bring on a period, if necessary also. You would probably want your cycle to be regular and healthy anyway in order to get pregnant.
