Questioni came 4rm a doctors appt. couple days ago and im 2 1/2 cm dialted and told me 2 that my cervix is 70% thining and i forgot 2 ask what that meanso what does it mean?

This means that your body is getting ready for labor. Definitely a good sign.
In order to deliver a baby, your cervix must be 100% effaced (thinned out) and 10 cm dilated. The dilating is "opening" and they measure this by fingertips.... usually each fingertip a doctor can fix into the cervix is one cm. YOu may hear them say "3 fingertips" which usually is 3 cm. Also the cervix must be 100% effaced, meaning thinned out, and you are almost all the way thinned out so this is great.
It does NOT mean though that you will go into labor any time immediately- you can be a bit dilated and very effaced for a while (weeks.) Sorry! I was 100% effaced and 3 cm dilated with both of my own children and did not go into labor for 3 weeks with my daughter and 2 weeks with my son.
So while it IS a sign that your body is slowly getting ready, you might not go into labor for a litle while. It is GREAT though because you do not have to dilate those cm in labor. WAY better to start off like this!
You will be just fine; hang in there, before long you will be holding your baby in your arms. i know it feels like the baby is never going to be born but it will. i promsie!
