Pregnancy Weeks: Understanding Gestational Age & Trimester

Lilly.Thank you for being patient with me.i appreciate it.Do you have any children?Another question is, I know doctors go by weeks when calculating pregnancy.They said I am almost 12 weeks now but if i got pregnant in dec,then i am only 2 months because it was the end of dec that i conceived.So am i 12 weeks that would be 3 months, or am i only 2 since it was only since dec.Is my first trimester over now or the end of march.Im due sept 17.Im confused with this calculation.I am trying not to worry about labor as much.I just want to know if the early part of labor is mild that i can do things aroung the house?My husband will be taking me to the hospital so should he call off the day early labor begins?Also when i am having the baby,i am going to the birthing suites and i hear it is beautiful.Anyway i dont want my whole family in the room when i am giving birth.I JUSt dont feel comfortable with it.i thought just my husband.Then everyone can see baby later.Does that sound rude to have them all wait?

I have one little girl who is 7 going on 27, she was 3 mo. premature but you would never know it. I am about to go offline for the night but give me the first day of your last period and I will further calculate the date and explain it to you. As far as early labor, it will start off mild in most cases and usually with the first child labor will be long, HOWEVER, things can be different with each person. But as each phase of labor goes along, the contractions will get harder and stronger. I really hope you change your mind about the classes, they are really great in explaining all of this to you and your hubby in detail. As far as the birthing suites they are wonderful, but do make sure you are allowed pain meds or epidurals, because some of them think birthing suites, natural child birth with no meds. Also if you don't want family except husband make sure they understand that and your ob makes note of it to the nurses. It is your preference and not rude at all. I am here if you need me.
