Fetal Movement Concerns at 22 Weeks: When to Contact Your Doctor
QuestionI am 22 weeks today, I haven't felt my baby move for 2 days now. The day before those 2 days she barely moved. Normally, when I eat she would move like crazy and now she's not. I tried every method eating, drinking ice cold water, and poking at her. Should I be concerned.
AnswerDear Trinica,
Any time there is a deviation from the normal pattern of movement after 20-24 weeks, you should notify your doctor. It sounds like you have tried stimulating movement with things that normally would induce it. Movement can usually be felt more easily when laying on your side or reclining. If no movement at all has not been felt in over 24 hours, my advice is to call your doctor. It could be that the baby is just sleepy for one reason or another, but it's best to be sure. Your doctor will more than likely do an ultrasound to check things and make sure all is progressing normally.
I hope this has helped answer your question and I will have a good thought for you.
