Tailbone Fracture & Pregnancy: X-Ray Radiation Concerns

Question
Hi,

My age is 26. I have 4 children. My last Lmp was January 23, 2005.

My question is I was sleighriding with my children and I may have fractured my tailbone. I recently went in for xrays on Jan 31. I am suppose to ovulate on feb 6 or somewhere around then. Will the radiation from the 3 xrays I got harm the baby. If I do indeed get pregnant?

 Thank you

Answer
If you have a normal 28 day cycle (from the first day of your period until the first day of your next period) ovulation occurs on cycle day #14. If your last period started on January 23, then you would have ovulated around February 5 or 6. You could only become pregnant if you have unprotected sex on February 4,5,6 or 7. If you had X-rays on January 31, they will not have any effect on any pregnancy. X-rays are only harmful at the exact time the radiation occurs. After January 31, you had no further radiation and, therefore, it will not effect any future conception. Don't worry.
