QuestionHi! I am 36 yoa, with 5 year old twins. My last period was on DEC 4th and
my embryonic transfer took place on DEC 22nd. Happily, my first test on JAN
4th yielded positive results; The RN told me that my levels were at 818 at
that time (Next test is JAN 8th).
While the RN said that "818" is right where we want to be, we're a little
curious as to whether that number is indicative of anything (maybe too
curious since our internet snooping has left us more confused)....In other
words, does that "818", at this very early stage, indicate another multiple
pregnancy? Does that "818" say anything about "singleton" versus "twin"
pregnancy?
Thx Jamie D
AnswerDear Jamie,
With the research studies I've seen, I'd say a 14 day post-ET hCG level over 600 has a high likelihood of indicating a multiple pregnancy. That does not mean you absolutely are pregnant with twins or more, BUT it does lead one to believe the possibility is definitely higher than normal.
You should know more after the 1/8 test tomorrow to see if it has continued to increase/double as anticipated. I would suspect that when those results are obtained, they will schedule an ultrasound for mid/late January to confirm any suspicions.
Congratulations on your successful ET!! I hope this information has helped you and answered your question. I wish you the best!
