Left Ovarian Pain & Pelvic Discomfort: Causes & Possible Solutions

Question
I have been experiencing some kind of pain in my left ovary and this pain sometimes spreads to the whole leg. Also have been feeling pain in the lower left pelvic area intermittently when i pass urine or bowel movements or walk

Answer
Dear Hema,

Many conditions can cause left lower quadrant abdominal pain. Possibilities include:
-Appendicitis
-Intestinal Obstruction
-Constipation
-Diverticulitis
-Leaking aneurysm
-Abdominal wall hematoma
-Ovarian Cyst or torsion
-Acute Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (pelvic pain)
-Ureteral Calculus (Nephrolithiasis)
-Renal pain

With some of these conditions, if there is enough inflammation in close enough proximity to a nerve (such as the sciatic nerve), it could cause pain to travel down the leg.

My recommendation is to see your doctor for a comprehensive examination and evaluation to determine a cause and receive the appropriate treatment.

I hope this has helped you and answered your question. I apologize for the delay in the answer - I was on a rare vacation for the 4th and for some reason this system didn't schedule it as it should have. I wish you well.
