QuestionHi,
I recently noticed some blood in my cervical mucus. I assume I am ovulating,
but is this normal??? Is it safe too conceive when this happens???
Just FYI I was diagnosed with a cyst on my right ovay about two weeks ago, I
don't know it that has anything to do with it???
Thank You for your time.
AnswerDear Jessica,
It is not unusual for cervical mucus to be tinged with blood accompanying ovulation. If you are mid-cycle and are fairly certain you are ovulating, this is probably nothing to be concerned about. If it continues for more than two days and is more than just a tinge of blood, then you will want to make an appointment and let your doctor examine you to make sure there's no cervical inflammation or infection going on to cause it.
As far as conceiving, you can go ahead and continue to try to conceive if this is just an isolated incident. As I said before, if it does not go away or continues to happen, you should be seen.
I hope this has helped you and answered your question. I wish you well.
