Understanding Cervical Mucus and Fertility: What Does a 'Glob' Mean?
QuestionI identify the end of my fertile period because a "glob" of cervical mucus is discharged. Per the research I have done thus far and by checking the fertility calendar, this would correspond to the end of it. What I can't seem to find an answer about is if I am trying to get pregnant and get the "glob" does it mean I am not pregnant? This may be a silly question but I have just started trying......
AnswerHi Marcela,
Not a silly question! Because your mucus changes throughout your cycle, it is very easy to speculate that early pregnancy might bring with it certain changes to the mucus. However, there are no typical changes of the cervical mucus right after you become pregnant.
So getting that "glob" does not indicate that you are not pregnant; it not possible to know from checking the mucus whether you have become pregnant or not.
I wish you the best of luck, and hope that you have a positive pregnancy test soon. :)
