Post-C-Section Hernia Concerns: Symptoms & What to Do

Question
I had to have a c-section with my last child, I had two vaginally prior with no issues.  I am having a concern about an internal or external hernia, near the incision area. The far left side of the incision site is a bit more bumpy than the rest of the area.  I am overweight and I thought that it might just be fat in that area, but it is more sensitive to touch not painful, but uncomfortable, and it seems that each time I kind of rub that area my stomach gets upset and I feel really gassy and like I have to have a BM, weird huh?  Anyways, we won't have benefits until June 1st so I am trying to hang in until then, any advice?

Answer
Dear Shannon

This seems to be an incisional hernia and it is always advised to be repaired without delay for fear of complications especially because ur overweight. This may weaken the defect further and increases the hernia size. If u can't seek a surgeon's opinion before june, then at least try to lose some weight, avoid excercise heavy lifting, constipation, chronic cough..etc

I hope these info is helpful.
