Early Pregnancy Ultrasound: When Can You See a Baby?

I did two home pregnancy tests on Friday of last week.  Both were positive.  Had a blood test last Saturday and that was positive.  Had my first ob today and first ultrasound.  The tech could not see anything at all in my uterus!  I have an irregualar cycle and I think my last period maybe started on 9/15/08.  The doctor guessed 6 weeks but why did we not see anything on the ultrasound.  I was so upset when I get home that I took another home pregnancy test and it came up positive immediately.  Should I worry or not???

I can understand why you are upset. Did they do an internal ultrasound with the vaginal probe or an abdominal one? If it was just an abd. one, they might not have been able to view your uterus enough. Did they view your fallopian tubes to make sure you didn't have an etopic pregnancy? If not, I would call your doctor and ask. Hopefully, it was just a little too early. I can't really tell you too much more than that, Unfortunately, it is a waiting game, which seems like it lasts forever. Good luck to you!!
