Understanding Your Placenta Scan Report: Fundo Anterior & Low-Lying Placenta

Question
Dear Suzette,I am 22 wks pregnant and have done my scan on
17.11.08.The radiologist who did my scan said baby was
fine.I have some queries after checking the report. It
says"Placenta-Fundo anterior grade I maturity,lowlying
3.0cm from os."Please let me know if this would cause any
problems or not and what those problems are if any. As I
had already had a miscarriage at 08 wks I am very scared.
Your reply would be very much appreciated.Thank you

Answer
Aishath,
The report states the position of the placenta is normal. It is a little low-lying, but will most likely be fine because your uterus will continue to grow and the placenta will stretch away from the os (opening of the uterus)even more. Good luck to you!!
