QuestionI had my memogram and ultra sound a month back. I am 48 years old. My report says the following:
1) There is no definite focal opacity or architectural distortion noted in the left breast
2) Small irregular focal opacity noted in the lower quadrant of right breast( corresponding to the cutaneous lesion)
3) There is no evidence of calcifications
4) The nipple are not retracted
5) No evidence of focal or diffuse thickening of skin or subcutaneous tissues noted
6) retro mammary spaces appear clear
7) No axilary adenopathy
8)On co-related ultrasound screening, no solid, cystic lesion noted in both breasts
9)Bilateral insignificant axillary nodes noted
The impression of the radiologist are given as under:
1) Small irregular focal opacity in right breast noted in the lower quadrant of right breast( corresponding to the cutaneous lesion)
2)No solid or cystic lesion noted in the ultrasound
The radiologist has not suggested further investigation.
My right breast is heavier and larger than the left breast. Is it connected to the point number 2 mentioned above?
In the light of the lesions in my right breast, is there any cause for worry and should I go to a cancer specialist and have further investigation? Please let me know if the report suggests any sort of serious follow up?
Regards
Chaman
AnswerNo there is probably no connection. There are no cancer suspect lesions IN your breasts. With regards to the skin lesion ON your breast you should let a skin doctor (dermatologist) check it. Good luck & Happy New Year!
