AnswerPubic pain is a common complaint in the latter stages of pregnancy and postpartum period.
Normally, all the bones of the pelvis are fused and no movement can occur. However, due to the hormones of pregnancy, ligaments (which connect joints together) soften and lengthen. This makes childbirth easier, as the pelvic outlet can widen a little bit as the baby's head moves through the bones.
However, if the pubic bones become unstable, then the joint can become irritated and inflamed during everyday activities, which causes pain.
Pain in your left thigh might also be related to pelvic instability, especially if your sacroiliac joint is involved.
Do not perform any movements which are painful. Avoid twisting movements. Don't lift or carry heavy objects. When seated, sit up tall with both feet on the floor. Avoid crossing your legs. Don't try to stretch the joint to relieve your pain.
The spasm in your arm/hand may be indicative of a pinched nerve in your upper back or neck.
I suggest that you make and appointment with your OBGYN and get a referral to either a Chiropractor, or Physical Therapist who specializes in prenatal care.
