Pregnancy After C-Section: Risks, Recovery & Chances of Preterm Birth
QuestionHi, I will try to give you as much info as possible. Well i had a emergency c section six months ago cos my baby was in breech position and my water broke when i was 36 1/2 weeks pregnant. I am currently trying to fall pregnant again (6 months after my c section) and i am reading alot of things that can go wrong with my c sections being so close together. What can go wrong and how likely is it? Also is there a higher chance of me having another prem bub cos my last one was and i have to have another c section. Please give me as much info as possible
AnswerDear Cindy
Most research advice a spacing of 2-3 years between pregnancies for the mother to replenish her stores of different nutrition to be able to feed her next baby and to avoid health problems for her such as iron deficiency anemia. Periods less than that was found to result in growth restricted and anemic babies and controversey exists about their futur abilities of learning compared to their peers born to mothers who had the recommended spacing periods. In your circumstances, Rupture of uterus is a high possibility, if you get pregnant 6 months afteryour CS. This may show as a severe hemorrhage and in many ocassions may require a hysterectomy.
I hope these information will help u take the right decision.
Good Luck
There is no relation between having a premture rupture of membranes and having another one in a future pregnancy
