Trying to Conceive After Mirena Removal: What to Expect

Question
I had the Mirena IUD removed in May of 2008 (if was in for 3 years) we have been trying to conceive ever since. We track ovulation and I have very regular periods, just no pregnancy. Is there something wrong or something we are not doing right? Very worried and disappointed!

Answer
TeriAnn,
You didn't mention how old you are, or how long you've been trying. Sometimes age plays a part in getting pregnant. If you are over 35, they tell you after 6 months of trying to consult your doctor. If you are under 35, they tell you to try for a year before consulting a doctor for help. The IUD shouldn't play a part in the reason why you are not getting pregnant, unless there is some scaring from it. You also don't know if it's you or your husband. Once you consult with your doctor, he or she probably will refer you to an infertility specialist. This doctor will not only test you, but your husband as well. Good luck, I hope this helps a little.
