QuestionHi Cheryl,
I am really confused at this time, hoping you could help.
Just recently (this last week or two) me and my fiance have decided we want a baby. So we have been trying dang near daily since then.
I am 18 years old, and have had normal menstruations since age 12. Never even a day late of 28 days. I have a lot of stress currently however that's nothing new and I've had worse with no interuption in my cycle.
So my last period was the week of May 17th (5 days) but I dont know the first day/last day. I wasn't keeping track too well. It is now the 25th of June still no period. I'm thinking great, I might be pregnant!
I have signs of pregnancy.... Cramping the last 5 days (VERY rare, never more then 1 day right before menstruation) Nausea and feeling like I have to throw up, not yet though. My breasts are tender and sensitive, frequent headaches, a lot of vaginal discharge (no burning or itching) I can't sleep but I'm constantly tired and just exhausted.
I have taken two pregnancy test... a cheap $8 one yesterday... Negative.
A $15 digital one today... also negative... I bought an extra one of the digitals today... if I don't start my period in the next 3-5 days I was going to take it. If negative I will go see my doctor.
However.... If I'm not pregnant, what could be going on?
Or is it likely I have had two false negatives in a row? Or is it still too early? I just don't know what's going on with my body.
Its been 5 weeks since my last period! Pregnancy like "symptoms"! 2 Negative pregnancy tests!
EEK!
Just wondering if I could still be pregnant, any advice what I should do, or what your thoughts are.
Thanks in advance,
Heather
AnswerHeather,
While both tests may be accurate in detecting that you are not pregnant, this could also be because it is too soon to tell. While preparing for a baby mentally you are unknowingly tricking your body into believing it is by wanting it so badly. This can cause symptoms of pregnancy. Stress may well be playing a part in all of this as well. You do have a good plan though, retest in a week if you do not begin menstruating and then contact your doctor.
Best Wishes,
Cheryl
