Ovulation After D&C: Timing, Fertility & Tracking
QuestionFrom what I've ready I should expect to ovulate 14 days after the d and c. I have an ob appointment scheduled 16 days after the d and c. My question is if I begin taking my bbt now (5 days post d and c) and using ovulation test can I expect for them to be accurate. Also, if I ovulate the day before my ob appointment will I have missed my chances for this month? I have seen that if you ovulate on day 14 then days 13 thruogh 16 are possible days to get pregnant. I had always thought the day after ovulation was to late. My ob instructed is no sex until after he gave the go ahead at my appointment. Thank you in advance!
AnswerDear Rese,
You can start taking you BBT and do the ovulation testing this month if you want to, but you must keep in mind that if you do ovulate prior to that appointment, this may not be the month/cycle that you will be able to conceive. Your doctor has instructed you to refrain from sexual activity for a reason, so you will need to follow those guidelines. If you don't ovulate until the day of your appointment, then you will still have the 24 hour window to try to conceive - given the "ok" from your doctor.
I hope this has helped you and answered your question. I wish you well.
