Belly Dancing & Early Pregnancy: Safety & Timing - Expert Advice
QuestionDear Helen. for about six months I'm attending belly dancing classes 3 times a week, exercises are quite intensive. a month ago I decided to get pregnant and would like to know when I should stop my classes? isn't it dangerous or undesirable to attend belly dancing classes during the very first weeks after conception takes place? can belly dancing exercises affect negatively the foetus getting implanted into the womb? and also same question rgd hula hoop... thank you very much in advance, with kind regards, Regina
AnswerBelly dancing has it's roots in preparing women for childbirth and labor and is safe throughout pregnancy, though you may need to decrease the intensity and range of motion of your movements once your tummy gets bigger.
I have never heard of any pros or cons about using a hula hoop during pregnancy, but I would imagine that it would be OK.
Neither of these two activities will negatively effect implantation.
