Fertility Tips: Trying to Conceive - What You Need to Know
QuestionSo i was wondering if you could give me some info. My husband and I have been trying for a baby for four months now. I know its not long and you should be concern when its been about a year. BUt can you give me some tips on how to make it easier?
I'm not what you say regular i'm about ever 30 days if i'm not stressed out, if i get reall stress i'll be about 3 weeks late. Is it true you should avoid having sex with the woman on top? Also is it bad for is sperm count to have sex about 4x a week?
Also my husband says i'm turning this into work. I let him know when i'm ovulating and that we should have sex since its our best chance to get pregant? I'm I doing somthing wrong?
Thank you for your help
AnswerDear Stacy
There is nothing wrong having sex with the woman on top. As for having sex 4 times a week, there is a controversey about this issue. Some physicians will tell you that sperm count needs to build up in a period of 3-4 days. Others will tell that at the current state of knowledge, pregnancy occurs with much less number of sperms than was thought years ago and will consider newly married couples who get pregnant although having sex almost daily as an evidence for their advice. I would go with the first advice. Stop having sex for 3-4 days before the expected time of ovulation in order to allow the reproductive system of your husband to save a good load as more sperms around the time of ovulation would definitely yield more chances to fertilize an ovum compared to a lesser load.
Stress is an important issue and programmed sex reflects some degree of anxiety and stress. That is why you are not regular. My advice here is to take it easy especially if you are in your 20s or 30s.
Good Luck
