Lower Left Abdominal Pain & IUD Concerns: Is Ectopic Pregnancy Possible?

Hi, I have a IUD and have had it for over a year and have had spotty periods through out that time, ON time. Anyway I've started having pain on my extreme lower left side. Almost feels like a swelling bruise on the inside. The pain isn't severe right now. But, getting slightly worse, and hurts to the touch. I'm having spotty bleeding now also. I just worried about an ectopic since I know it's more common since I have an IUD. This is the 1st time I've had an issue with the IUD.

Have you got a pregnancy test done?. If you are pregnant, even with an ectopic pregnancy it would be positive. So if the test is positive you may need an USG to see for ectopic pregnancy. Otherwise a pelvic infection can also cause such symptoms. An USG will be able to detect pelvic infection or cysts as well.
