Understanding Pregnancy Risks & Complications: A Personal Story
QuestionHi and thank you for your participation. I am just curious about pregnancy complications. I have 4 boys ages 14, 3, 2, and 5 months. The middle two pregnancies I had polyhydramnios and my 2 yr. old had GERD and DGE and has a g-tube now, but developmentally fine. My first and last pregnancy I had gestational diabetes with the last one I took insulin. The last 3 I was induced and the very last I had an ER C-section b/c of the cord around the baby's neck. I will be 34 in Aug. My husband and I would like to consider trying for a girl; next year but he is terrified about my health. I know it sounds like a lot of things but are any reasons to not conceive again? I have recovered well and feel good and am in good health.
Thank you, Kerri
AnswerI recommend scheduling an appointment with your doctor or midwife and having your husband go with you. At this appointment, have him openly discuss his concerns with your doctor or midwife. The doctor or midwife can then put his fears to rest by going over your medical history with him and discuss any potential issues there would be regarding another pregnancy.
Please let me know if I can help you further or with anything else.
Best wishes,
Helen =)
