Pregnancy Anxiety: Understanding Miscarriage Risks & Coping

Question
My auntie is finially pregnant after trying for two years. She is about 2/5 weeks pregnant and she is terrified about getting a miscarriage. She's 28 years old and this is her very first baby. She has a 7 year old daughter, but she isn't the mother, so she's her step mother. She is married, but she needs to save up for a new house as the house she has is not suitable for a baby. She was just wondering, what are the odds of her getting a miscarriage and if she has one, how will she act?

Answer
Shannon, I could not possibily answer this question. There are many different reasons why women have miscarriages, and every woman handles it differently. Many pregnancies are healthy and go to term, you aunt really needs to try and relax, take the doctors advice, take folic acid and avoid heavy lifting.

I send my congratulations on her pregnancy,

Kind regards,

Christine
