QuestionHi there, me and my partner have been ttc for 14months, but i have been off the pill for almost 3 years without using any contraception.
we have both been tested, my tubes are clear, i ovulated, his sperm is fine, but still nothing is happening.
I still believe that i have something wrong with me,which is stopping us from concieving.
Every month before my period is due, my body completely shuts down, i get mouth ulcers, and sores down below. I have also experienced fluid from both nipples but only when i squeeze them. At first it was just white in colour and both the doctor and gynae said this was normal. But now my right nipple produces a grey/greenish fluid?? Could I have some sort of hormone inbalance?? Could this be why we are concieving?
Thanks
AnswerHello Hayley,
There are a couple of things that need to be checked. In many cases, women that test normal with the basic tests but have an infertility problem, have been found to have a pelvic disorder called "endometriosis." The only way to diagnose this is to have an outpatient surgery called laparoscopy. If you were my patient, that is the next test that I would recommend.
Secondly, if you have a nipple discharge, you need to have a prolactin level checked. This is a blood test. If this is elevated, you will need treatment. This can prevent pregnancy as well.
