Questionhi, i have done my leproscopy 4 months ago of my endometriosis cysts now i m trying to consive from 4 months but i cannot. then my doctor priscibe me ovafin. but now i have a cyst in my overy come again.
Answerhello Mohsin,
Ovafin is Clomiphene citrate, also known as Clomid. It is prescribed to help the ovary ovulate in patients that do not have ovulatory cycles, and in patients that do ovulate, to increase the number of eggs that are ovulated (called superovulation). I would recommend that you look at my blog where I explain how these cycles should be done. It does not sound like your cycle was monitored appropriately, or that this medication is indicated. In doctors that are not fertility specialists, they use this drug as if it were some type of "magic" fertility drug, that just by giving it the woman will become pregnant. That is totally untrue. It is not a magic fertility drug and does not enhance your fertility other than to get the ovary to ovulate. Most of these doctors do not know what they are doing. They are using a "cookbook" method. My recommendation would be for you to see a real fertility specialist. Clomid does nothing to help endometriosis.
Good Luck,
