After having absent periods for 3 months the doctor gave me provera 10 mg for 10 days followed by progyluton. i am on it for 3 months now and with the progyluton ma period come 4 days after the last pill. but my problem is it not like my normal flow before my period went absent for the 3 months. it is a bit lighter but not light enough to call spotting. it lasts for 6-7 days alltogether. is something wrong with me? is this normal? also i am wondering if i can rule pregnancy out because i am not sexually active but might have gotten fluid neat the vaginal area. i took a pregnancy test 2 months later and it is negative and i have no symtoms except increased vaginal fluid and a bit nauseated at times but i am wondering if the pills (progyluton caused this). please reply as soon as possible and also with as many answers as possible. i am 18 and started my period at 10 years old.

Your doctor put you on a birth control pill probably because you have an ovarian/hormonal dysfunction. The pill is to regulate your cycles and give you the needed hormones estrogen and progesterone. The resulting bleeding pattern, discharge and nausea are effects of the birth control pill and are normal.

I just answered your previous follow-up. I also found out that this is a generic pill and IS available in the U.S. (so much for getting all the information at once).
It is a hormone replacement therapy and not a birth control pill so does not inhibit ovulation. You can potentially get pregnant. However, if you are not sexually active then that is not a possiblity. It has only occurred once in history that I know of and it was a divine event.
