QuestionI used 100 IU per day for 7 days followed by an Ovidrel trigger. This was followed by back to back IUI's. About 5 days after the IUI I started having breast tenderness, which has continued for 4 days. With all three cycles of Clomid with Ovidrel trigger- I didn't have any symptoms during the luteal phase. Could I have an increase in symptoms because there were two mature follicles?
We have been trying to conceive for two years now with one natural pregnancy ending in an early miscarriage. I'm also trying to tell myself that these symptoms are just an effect of the medicine. If you could explain it to me, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
AnswerHllo Amy from the U.S.,
Your breasts have glands within them that are very hormonally responsive. That is why most women will have breast tenderness in the luteal phase (after ovulation until the period). More than likely, that is the cause of your breast tenderness, which is in effect, a result of your medications. Are you on supplemental progesterone as well, becuase that can also cause breast tenderness?
