QuestionI had irregular periods and have made it reuralized by using some pills. Now for past 3 months i have been having regular periods. Then on Nov 12 2010 i got ovulated and now i have missed my periods for 10 days from today (DEC 07 2010). But the urine test showed me the negatvie result. On hearing this my doctor advised me to use Susten 200 mg tablet for next five days.
1. Now i would like to know whter i am pergnant or not, if not then what has happened to the ovulated egg?
2. What is the actual purpose of the Susten 200 mg tablet. If at all iam pregnant will my pregnancy get aborted?
It would be very kind of you if you could answer my question.
1.
AnswerHello Deepika from India,
It is too bad that your doctor did not explain this to you because it is his responsibility to explain all the medications he/she gives.
Susten is natural progesterone and will not affect pregnancy.
You doctor gave you this for five days to induce a period, but before you do that, I would recommend that you have a blood pregnancy test. In order to be sure of pregnancy, you need to have a blood pregnancy test done. If it is negative, then you can stop the medication. It if is positive, you should continue it.
Good Luck,
