QuestionHi Dr. Ramirez,
I am 30 and my first ivf attempt ended in chemical pregnancy. I got a positive beta 8dp5dt, but started bleeding the next day and the hcg levels went down from there. I have pcos and no other issues. Could there be any reason other than abnormal embryos for the failure. Do you think we have a fair chance with FET.
Thanks..
AnswerHello Suzy,
A chemical pregnancy and subsequent miscarriage can occur in up to 40% of pregnancies. Your could have been for many different reasons, which we probably cannnot understand or know but the majority of miscarriages occur because of an abnormal embryo. Most of these patients will have successful pregnancies subsequently. I have no doubt that you will as well.
Good Luck,
