Natural Pregnancy After IVF Failure: Understanding Early Symptoms & Concerns

Question
QUESTION: Hi doc,

I am 29 yrs female. This year I underwent 2 IVF cycles both of which failed due to unknown reasons. And After failure of 2nd IVF cycle I conceived naturally which was quite a shocker for me.
I am currently 6 weeks and few days into pregnancy and taking progesterone pessaries 200 mg , Ecospirin(baby aspirin) and folic acid.
Had U/S at 5 weeks and pregnancy is in-utero.

Since 2 days I have noticed brown colored spotting which is very light just 1-2 drops.
I am kind of worried what would be causing those.
Please suggest.
Is it OK to take Aspirin ?

ANSWER: Hello Ria from India,

Congratulations.  The brown spotting is probably due to the progesterone suppositories (pessaries) and is very common.  You don't need to be concerned.  I tell my patient to only worry if they have bleeding that is bright red blood like a period flow.  You can continue the aspirin and I would recommend it until 10 weeks gestational age.

QUESTION: Thnx doc for reply.

Just to update you on this I miscarried naturally few days back as the doctor was unable to see a clear fetal pole and heartbeat.
I want to know what are my chances of conceiving again naturally as this was my first natural pregnancy after trying for 2 and a half years and 2 failed IVFs.
My right tube is partially blocked at perifimbrial end and left is blocked at perifimbrial end.
Can hormonal injections given with IVF influence spontaneous conception after an IVF cycle?
My doctor says to try naturally for 6 months.
Me and my husband's Karyotype in OK.

Please suggest. As I am still in despair over failures and losses that too when nobody knows what went wrong.
Should I change clinic for next IVF?

Thanx doc for your valuable suggestions.

Ria

Answer
Hello Again,

I know that I just answered your question, but forgot to address the question of changing clinics.  Keep in mind that pregnancy rates will vary from clinic to clinic.  So, this might be something for your to consider.
