ANSWER: Hello Sandhya Joshi from India,
IVF success rates are very dependent on each individual clinic, and the country where it is performed. I don't know the statistics for India. In the U.S., under the age of 35 years old, pregnancy rates are 50-60% on average. Again, these vary from clinic to clinic. For instance, in my center, the pregnancy rate under 35 is 74% per cycle. The variations in pregnancy rates are because many factors are involved including doctor experience, laboratory quality, stimulation protocol, fertilization rates, quality of embryo development, transfer skill, etc. In PCO patients, we worry about a complication known as Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS) which if not properly handled can be fatal. For that reason, the doctor needs to know the steps required to prevent this. The most common protocol in PCO patients at risk for this disorder is a "low slow" or "soft" ovarian stimulation. Since you have had one cycle of IVF before, then we can better tailor an appropriate protocol based on how you performed previously. For example, in one of my PCO patients recently, in her first cycle I applied the low slow protocol because I didn't know how she would respond. I found that her ovaries were not as sensitive as expected so in the second protocol, I increased the amount of medication significantly.

AnswerHello Again,
I would recommend that you look at my Blog under "Bleeding after Embryo transfer". Hopefully that will reassure you that the spotting you have is very common and does not mean anything, so you shouldn't worry.
