QuestionDear Sir,
Periods of my wife is late by 20dayas and we are assuming that she is pragnent, doctor has advised duoloton L to avoid pregnancy, (is this the right tablets)
AnswerHello Mahesh from India,
If your wife is late for her period, and you suspect she might be late, then the first thing you need to do is a pregnancy test. Douloton will NOT work to stop the pregnancy, should NOT be used if she wants to continue the pregnancy and is a completely inappropriate treatment recommendation. I would recommend that you see a different doctor because your current doctor obviously does not know what he/she is doing.
If you and your wife do not want the pregnancy then you will need to abort the pregnancy using a medical abortion technique (Methotrexate+Misoprostol). You should think very carefully about that choice, however, I answer mainly infertility questions on this site and many many people in India and all over the world are trying very hard to have a child. I would not recommend that you give it up so easily. I am also not an advocate of abortion for convenience sake, although I do think it is your personal choice.
