Question
First Response - Resul
Hello. I was wondering if I could possibly be pregnant OR if I am getting my hopes up too early! I had an hcg trigger shot on the morning of 9/23 (6,667 IU's#, IUI on 9/24 with 4 follicles and 8 million post-wash motile sperm, which was followed by a booster of hcg on 9/30 #3,333 IU's#. My only other RE appointment since the IUI was a cycle day 21 progesterone test which showed a progesterone level of 81. I took a first response home pregnancy test this afternoon and I am pleased with the 2 lines #picture attached) and I would feel pretty confident in it if it wasn't for the booster shot a week after the initial shot. Please tell me the booster would be gone by now?!
AnswerHello Keri from the U.S. (Texas),
In general, the HCG given by injection should only last for three days, but I can't tell you with 100% certainty that it would not be the reason for your positive urine pregnancy test. The only way to know for sure is to do a blood pregnancy test for the bHCG subunit.
Good Luck,
