Questionmy daughter(age 9) was suffering from cramps. we took her to the base doctor(naval med center)they ran a urinalyisis and found blood in her urine.
the cbc,and cultures both came back no infection,so they wanted to watch it. they have no answers and this is on going , in fact, they found blood in her urine in august but told us it may have been a contaminated sample so i am assuming this is ongoing can you help

AnswerWell, she should have a full evaluation on the kidneys and bladder, once.... there are several different ways to do it... the kidneys can be looked at with ultrasound, or cat scan or an IVP- a shot of dye and plain xrays. Then the bladder gets evaluated separately, with a scope or a catheter inserted and dye pushed in and xrays taken. This should be done once, to make sure there are no problems causing the blood. If these are normal, then the blood can be ignored.
