Diverticulitis vs. Prostatitis Pain: Understanding the Difference

I am apparently dealing with a an attack of both at moment.  Not unusual for me at times.  I have had chronic prostatitis for years as well as diverticulous.

My question I have some pain in the lower left abdomen or better described maybe as pelvis area.

Is that more likely diverticulitis or prostatitis?

I have cipro which I will increase until I can see doctor

I have frequent urination as well as some gas.

It could be either, but prostate tends to give low rectal pain andbackpain, as well as dysuria.  Colon problems tend to lateralize more on the abdomenal sides.....but,hollow organ pain is weird....itis referred,meaning if it hurts, the pain nmay not   be over the organ, it maybe nearby.

If youcheck a prostate exam and a urine sample, that should help figure out which one it is.
