Xanax XR Chewing: Effects & Concerns - A Medical Perspective

Hey I hope u can help me.My mom is taking Xanax XR it says she has to swallow the pill in order for it to last all day.But she cant swallow the pill.She lets it sit in her mouth for a while and then chews it up.Is this bad?Shes used to the dose.Shes taking 2mg in the mourning and to at night.Is it ok if she chews the pill?What will happen?see I worry about my mom alot so.Please write me back hun.Thanks

Is this bad? not really but she will not get the long lasting effect she is paying for. If she can not swallow the pill, ask the doctor to order the plan xanax the next time.
