Child's Stomach Pain After Eating: Causes & What to Expect

Question
My eight year old has been having stomache pains after eating for the past three months.Sometimes with GERD. Her pediatritian put her on 15mg of previcid for children. Although it has helped with the GERD, her pains are still there, and they seem worse. I am suppose to be going to a Gastrointestinal doctor at Hasbro Childrens hospital in RI this week. I am wondering what to expect and other then acid reflux what it could be?I am wondering if it is possiable at her age to have a gall bladder problem or twisted digestive track? She is a ruffian and likes to wrestle and jump off things.Of course I stop her, but sometimes I don't get her on time and she has taken some pretty good spills.Esspecially off her bike trying to be evil cinevil! Any insite would be a great help to us.

Answer
I am wondering what to expect and other then acid reflux what it could be? It all depends on the timing of when she gets the pain, if when she is eating, likely GERD, if 2-3 hours after the meal and worse with rich high fat foods, then we think of Gallbladder problems.
Also you may want them to check her blood for the antibody to the Heliobactor pylorii germ the causes ulcers since it is a simple finger stick blood test. Be sure they hold the test and watch it for 3-4 hours since some patients with immune disorders are late reactors to the test. Also ask them to do an amylase and lipase for pancreatitis since that can occur at her age.

I am wondering if it is possiable at her age to have a gall bladder problem or twisted digestive track?

Yes, but not as likely as the above.
