Question What could cause hot flashes besides menopause.
It's been happening more often now.
Any time during the day I get this warm feeling all over my face and neck.
I am 54 and have not had a period for over 6 years
so I know it's not menopause.
SOme of my other symptoms and problems are,
B12 deficency--getting shots
Numbness and tingling in legs,feet,arms.
Acid reflex
Degenerative disc in cervical and lumbar area.
Arthritis in knees.
Had epidural shot for numbness but did not help.
Muscles in calfs and hamstrings are so tight and sore and cramp up real bad.
Would any or these problems cause the hot flashes
or should I be seeking other information as to what is causing it.
Thanks a lot
AnswerHi Debbie,
Hot flashes can be caused by a number of things besides estrogen deficiency. Have you tried estrogen replacement anyway? Thyroid disease, blood pressure problems, certain endocrine problems just to name a few. You should probably be on some additinal things like vitamins. It might even be some medicines that you take. This is really worth talking over with your doctor.
