Undescended Testicle (Cryptorchidism): What You Need to Know

Question
I'm 20 years old and my scrotum has'nt droped yet. It hangs for momments then gets tight again.what should I do?

Answer
The main thing is--have both testicles descended?  The scrotum tightens to protect your testicles as you walk around, etc.  You don't want it loose all the time.  My suggestion is that if you think something may be abnormal, go to a male family practice/general medicine doctor.
The following is a brief list of urgent/emergency symptoms pertaining to the scrotum and testicles:
-Feeling as if your testicles are unraveling-go to the doc
-New onset of redness of scrotum-go to the ER
-Sudden Swelling of scrotum-go to the ER
-Nodules felt on testicles-go to the doctor
-Painful urination, blood in urine, discharge-get to see a doc today
TESTICULAR TORSION--you need to know about this--
must be treated within hours at the ER to prevent "dying" of testicles due to lack of blood supply
Main symptom:
-Recent/sudden onset of scrotum pain
The following can all be symptoms of testicular torsion:
  +Blood in semen
  +Lower abdominal pain
  +Lump in testicle
  +Nausea and vomiting
+Sudden, severe testicular pain, followed by    diminishing pain after several hours (after necrosis begins to set in)
  +Redness of scrotum
  +Swelling of just one testicle
Take care, and perform those self exams!
