AnswerMohit,
First it is important to know what type of kidney (renal) stones you produce. The most common (80%) are calcium (calcium oxalate). And high oxalate foods produce them... such as tea, many nuts and greens such as Brussels sprouts. http://www.ohf.org/docs/OxalateContent092003.pdf is a good web site reference that lists mild, mod and high oxalate containing foods in which to avoid. There are other reasons you may produce stones: Uric Acid stones by those that under secrete or over produce uric acid in their bodies. Keeping an alkaline pH in blood and urine will help excrete these types of stones.
Some basic rules: Keep very hydrated... stones are formed when a person is dehydrated, drinks too much caffeine or alcoholic beverages. Limit oxalate containing foods in abundance. Limit Ethanol (beer, wine, liquor), Limit large intakes of protein (purines and other amino acids in a heavy protein loaded diet can form stones).
Best to have a stone analyzed for what it is, so you can intelligently avoid what the root cause may be.
Hope this helps.
