Question
Hi,
Three days ago I started having a discharge from m belly button, its white-green
in colour. The belly button is red inside, and its a little sore. I went to the
doctor and was prescribed Duricef, and told to clean with Hibiclens. Have been
doing this for a day already with no improvement. I am very concerned, never had
this before. I am not over weight and have good hygeine. I was wondering if this
could be caused by going to a public pool. Also my biggest concern is can this
be related to some kind off an internal problem? I was wondering in your opinion is Duricef 500 mg
twice daily for 10 days an appropriate treatment? Also how long will it take for
the discharge to stop?

Answerthere is no connection into the body from a belly button, but people get a local infection in the skin folds... cleaning the area well with a cutip and peroxide usually helps, and sometimes we use antibiotics like duricef to speed that along.... but it should get better with good cleaning in a week....
