Abdominal Pain: Fibroids, Ovarian Cysts, or Other Causes?

Question
I have been having abd pain for more than a week.  I went to my doctor and they performed a pregnancy test and U/A, both were negative.  I have also been haveing breast tenderness.  My abd pain has progressively gotten worse.  I feel weak and short of breath.  I went to my doctor a second time to explain these things.  She did a pelvic exam and put me on a med for baterial vaginosis, and a shot of rocephin.  That was four days ago.  I feel like I am not getting any better.  Could my problem be caused by my fibroid or ovarian cyst?  I know I have both.  I had my left ovary removed in 2000 and later developed cyst on the right ovary and the fibroid has gotten larger.  What would you recommend?  I am at a loss.  I just recently starting seeing this doctor.  I forgot to mention I have a heaviness in the lower part of my abdomen and pain/tenderness .  I also have sicke cell anemia. Should I speak with my doctor again about possibly doing an ultrasound or CT of abd or should I consult my Hem/Onc?

Thanks in advance for your advise.

Answer
Hi Traci,
I would certainly mention the sickle cell to your doctor. My guess is that with that information he will want to do a pelvic ultra sound and/or a CT. Does this pain feel like the abdominal pain from a sickle cell crisis? If so, your Heme/Onc doctor should be informed as well.
