Wrist Pain After Pregnancy: Potential Causes & Considerations

Question
My 30 yr. old, caucasian, 5'6", 208 lbs. daughter began experiencing severe wrist pain (both wrist) during her last trimester of pregnancy.  She delivered her baby 14 days ago and still has the pain.  The pain is located on the thumb & joint side of both wrist.  She has depression with psychotic features plus is hypothyroid disease.  She takes stelazine (psychosis), prozac (depression) and synthroid (thyroid) plus still taking one prenatal vit. per day.  Her OB-Gyn told her it might disappear 2 weeks after birth and her family Dr. said it might be ligament problems but won't pursue any medical treatment until she quits nursing in a couple more weeks.  Any suggestions on what this might be or what other medical directions to pursue to find out the cause.  Any input would be much appreciated.  Thank You!

Answer
This is due to the demineralization of bone and ligament attachement by the pregnancy plus a lack of magnesium oxide, calcium carbonate with Vit D and omega-3 plant oil.
Make sure she avoids poultry, chips, peanut products, soy, flax and granola products which will make her more depressed.  Our patient do well with the following if OK with her doctors:
1) omega-3 fish oil 3000mg before each meal and at bedtime  with yogurt smoothies
2) magnesium oxide 250 mg before each meal and at bedtime
3) calcium carbonate 500mg with Vit D at lunch, dinner and bedtime.
4) PrimaCare prenatals twice a day for 3 months
