Understanding Stomach Discomfort: Causes & When to Worry

Question
For about two weeks, I have been having stomach discomfort, slight nausea after eating, especially hard or coarse foods. Does this indicate an ulcer, gall bladder, something else or nothing serious? Thank you, Shirley

Answer
shirley;

the stomach is a remarkable organ,but it doesnt always function smoothly. problems primarily affecting the lining of the stomach can lead to illness. the lining of the stomach generally is resistant to injury,but at times its resistance can break down.

it sound like you may just be having indigestion.
in itself,indigestion is more of a discomfort than a serious problems.
however,because it can be a symptom of a major underlying disease,treat your indigestion seriously,particlarly if its of recent onset. its important to see a doctor so that more serious problems can be ruled out;

heres a few things to try over-the-counter-maalox,rolaids,others or an acid blocker,such as cimetidine[tagamet],ranitidine[zantac],see if your symptoms improve.
