Persistent Finger Tip Heat & Discomfort: Causes & Advice

Hello Dr. Borucki:
On the tip of my left hand index finger, I have been getting some sort of internal heat discharge, as if I put my finger tip on something warm, which I don't do. It then goes away and comes back periodically during the day. Visually, there's nothing different from the other fingers. Please advice.

you didn't menation how long it is doing it but it sounds like you might have had an injury... either a mild burn or a mild trauma to it and now it is inflamed a little... fingertips have a lot of sensation and some inflammation makes it much more intense.... give it a few days.
