Understanding Recurring Infections After Metronidazole Treatment
QuestionWhere to start I;'m not sure. I had what I believed to be a bacterial infection and my doctors office prescribed me with metro because I wasn't able to get into the office because my boss is out of town. Two treatments into the metro gel I started having a yeast infections I wasn't sure what to do because I had three doses left of the metrogel. So I finished the doses and I began feeling pretty sick flu like symptoms my right armpit was swollen but only my right armpit and I thought it might have just been because of a spider bit or something but the pain persisted and I couldn't leave work to go to the doctor so I took 2 pills of Augmentin (500 mg of Amoxicilian sp) each that I had leftover from a trip overseas thinking whatever I had would atleast be staved off for a while till I could get into my doctor this week. Hope you are still awake the story continues I have no appetite and I am constantly thirsty but am having troubling swallowing so I'm not drinking near as much as I should. I am sure I am dehydrated I have had diarrhea pretty much every day for the past two weeks and a killer yeast infection. I finally made it to my doctors today and I have a bladder infection and a yeast infection high blood pressure and my iron is through the roof. they ran bunch of blood tests and tested me for everything under the sun. I am starting Diflucan and Macribid (well the generic versions because thats what the pharmacy offered) today. I guess my question to you is if you have any other suggestions. At first I thought I just through off my flora by wiping with wet wipes for a weekend while we went camping because the bacterial infection started shortly after a camping trip and the swollen armpit so I just thought it was a spider bite that was causing that. when I took the augmentin the swelling and pain in my armpit went away almost immediately and was replaced with the killer yeast infection. I hope this makes sense I am running on very little and a lot of caffeine. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my epic novel.
Answeringa;
theres somethings else going on here i think.
the armpit,most likely is from a gland,which has been infected. did you tell your doctor about that?
i think you should have a test for lyme disease,due to the fact you have be camping.
you have signs & symptoms, which could be Lymes.
please have it checked;
