Inner Ear Infection Treatment: Antibiotics & Decongestants
QuestionHello:
Are there any medications that can be used to treat a possible infection of the internal auditory canal of the ear or the internal ear itself?
I thank you for your reply.
AnswerI am not sure what you are asking... an inner ear infection is treated with antibiotics plus decongestants. The decongestant helps shrink the tissue so the normal drainage back through th eustachian tube can drain properly. Then the antibiotic actually fights the bacterial infection in the trapped fluid in the inner ear space.
