Swollen Finger After Tablet Use: Potential Causes & What to Do

I bought a new tablet and have been using it.  Last week I started notcing some hand pain during and after using it.  My pointer finger on my left hand from the middle knuckle to hand knuckle is now swollen and tender on both sides but only from the hand knuckle to middle knuckle on finger.  What is going on?

if there is no skin break, it sounds like you injured it somehow.... kids get it playing video games, smacking the side of the finger repeatedly on a joystick, but simply using a pointer.... I would have trouble thinking you could do it that way..... look for a repetitive motion causing it......
