QuestionHi, my name is Lacey and I am a 21 y/o female in San Diego, CA. I am writing because I as well as those close to me are concerned about my health. When I was younger I was ALWAYS sick--strep throat, ear infections, sinus infections, migraines, etc. I don't have a memory where I am not sick, at least I was never NOT sick for too long!
Last month on March 14 I had a tonsillectomy and 10 days later had an additional surgery to stop an artery that had "sprung a leak" in my throat. Prior to my surgery I had an ear infection that lasted for a month and took two separate antibiotics to clear the infection. It seems that still to this day (prior to the surgery and since) I always have a cold, the flu, stomach flu, migraines, infections, bronchitis--something always has me sick! I have asked doctor after doctor and NO ONE can help me--they just say I get sick a lot but I am a full time college student and work part-time as well and I can't accept that answer anymore. PLEASE HELP ME! I just need to know what could be causing me to ALWAYS be sick!
Thank you and sorry for the length of this.
Lacey
Answerit is hard to say whether you truly have an immune system problem or why you are repeatedly getting sick. But, I would request a full evaluation, possibly a referral to an allergist, immunologist. Also, keep a calender track of exactly all your ongoing illnesses, when they start and stop, this will help the specialist believe you re: the illnesses. Hope this helps
